As I may have told some of my fans (that’s you!) I’ve been on a pizza journey for the past 7 years. I began dressing up as a pizza slice when I first started professionally recording my music back in 2019. It has been 7 Halloweens since that occasion (I know, hard to believe!) and sadly, or perhaps not so sadly, I have been forced into an early retirement.
But not to fret! This doesn’t mean I am done writing and recording music. It just means that I am no longer on my pizza journey. My one Amazon-purchased Halloween costume that lasted me all these Halloweens (and one YouTube Free Pizza video) has been left behind in my seedy motel room along with my first guitar with a pickup and some Wisconsin cheese in the refrigerator. I had every intention of making it back to return for these items (that dang pizza costume had sentimental value at this point) but it just isn’t in the cards. I hope my Jasmine (the guitar) went to a good home and I hope someone found use for all the fabric I purchased for future costumes. Oh, and hopefully someone was able to enjoy the aged bleu cheese I left in the fridge!
Luckily, I was still able to celebrate Halloween number 7 in Nashville where I recorded a new song that I’m excited to add my vocals to. Whether I make it back down to music city in the future will depend on how well I can bounce back from the financial ruin I’ve found myself in. Once I can make it through the day without needing a nap or three, I’ll be looking for a way to make back all the money I spent evading disaster.
